HOSPITAL PROFILE

The construction of this state-of-the-art hospital commenced in 1996 to replace the current Municipal Hospital which used to be the Regional Hospital of the Brong Ahafo Region. The motive behind the construction of the new hospital was to get a befitting regional hospital for the people of Brong Ahafo and beyond.

Construction was completed in 2001 and operation started in August 2003. The bed capacity of the hospital was meant for three hundred (300) but as of now it has been increased to about three hundred and thirty (330) beds with Accident and Emergency Ward (A&E) having 16 beds, 4 cots and a modern theater and runs a 24-hour service with highly trained, committed and self-motivated staff.

The Bono Regional Hospital, Sunyani is a Ghana Health Service facility and as such not for profit making organization. As a secondary level service provider, it serves as referral point for several District/Municipal Hospitals as well as other private health facilities in Brong Ahafo Region and neighboring regions. It is highly committed to meeting the expectations of our numerous customers; patients and their relatives, corporate bodies, suppliers, maintenance team, staff of the service. The vision of the hospital is Center of excellence in health care delivery among our peer.

The mission of the hospital is to provide up to secondary level, high quality health services (curative, preventive, promotive and rehabilitative) to the people living in Brong Ahafo Region by a highly committed and happy workforce through efficient and effective management/Government system and to become a teaching hospital like our peers in Central and Volta Region.

Clinical services including support service provided by the facility are as follows; General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Trauma, ENT, Orthopaedic surgery, Dental, Ophthalmology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Urological operation, Pathology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, VCT and PMTCT, Psychotherapy, ART, Physiotherapy, Mortuary, CT Scan, Endoscopy, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pharmaceutical Services, X-Ray/Ultrasound, CSSD, Transport, Catering, Supply Chain, 24hr A&E Service, Laboratory Investigations, Maintenance, Security, Laundry and Extension of OPD hours from 2pm – 8pm (polyclinic establishment).
